Sicamous KOA
En route to or from the snow-capped mountains of Glacier and Banff national parks, the Sicamous KOA makes an ideal stopover. Its quiet wilderness setting is just off Trans-Canada Highway 1, minutes from the deep blue waters and beaches of Shuswap and Mara lakes. Sicamous rightly calls itself the Houseboat Capital of Canada, but that's not the only nautical way to enjoy the lakes. Take a sternwheeler tour on Shuswap Lake, past ancient petroglyphs. Spot hidden streams and waterfalls glinting with sunlight among dark green trees. Then head back for a float in KOA's pool or go on a hayride with a clown. Pancake breakfasts, movies, fireworks and nature walks are regular events in the summer. Directions 35 miles west of Revelstoke or 8 miles east of Junction 97A Sicamous. On Highway 1.
